An Interesting Job Someone Has to Do...
Enroute to a Remote Site
I work what I consider an Interesting job. Of all the jobs that I've had over the years, I think that I've enjoyed this job about the best. I comprise a 'one man' electronics shop located at Parker Dam. I maintain the Communications, Control, and Instrumentation systems at several Dams. Where needed, as needed. I do bench repair work while at my shop.

Along with Hardware Support, some of my tasking[s] include Software Support and Development. I am the primary support person for the real time data acquisition from the Colorado River. I designed, built and fielded the field replaceable units used in the system. I also wrote the field level polling software used in the system. Mix in a little engineering, some hardware design, programming, integration and installation and you have an idea of the hats I wear.
I cover a large territory covering many remote sites. Most of the time I work alone. Some days can be extremely long. Working on your own is not for everyone - but when you work alone the work can become very rewarding. And it is...
