About Our Place.

We are the Carter and Gottschald family, we are spread over a wide area but we are together here. The family home is in Saratoga County, New York, not far from the Great Sacandaga Lake, in a mainly wooded area.

In the family home is Jan (head of the Carter Family), Jenean (Jan's daughter) and Alan (Jan's Husband and technical support). Rich (Jan's son) lived with us until August 2001 when passed. Living away are Jan's other sons Artie, Jamie and Jerry.

There is a commemorative page for Rich, whom we all miss. Although he has passed we feel him with us.

Each family member has a main page except our parents and my (Alan) family in England. These pages may remain under construction for some time, until everyone provides material for their construction.

We share our home with two dogs, a two cats and a parrot None of which has managed to eat any of the others...

In our woodland we have many trails, which criss-cross the property and afford many pleasant views. There is also an abundance of wild life, from deer to many kinds of birds.

The temperature ranges (in Fahrenheit) from the high nineties in summer to below zero in winter. Every winter we get snow, normally it is several feet deep.

We have been working on the land behind the house, to extend the gardens and create a family plot on the hill.
