SACRAMENTO  RIVER  INFORMATION

 

All the information below are notes that I have gathered over the years of watching the river for flooding conditions.  This information is not scientific by any means and could change in a moments notice.

SHASTA DAM  (SHA)

Reservoir capacity is 4,552,000 acre feet
Elevation to the top of the dam at maximum capacity is 1,070 feet
Maximum release from the dam is 150,000 cubic foot per second

OROVILLE DAM  (ORO)

Reservoir capacity is 3,537,600 acre feet
Elevation to the top of the dam at maximum capacity is 900 feet
Maximum release from the dam is 150,000 cubic foot per second

BLACK BUTTE DAM  (BLB)

Reservoir capacity is 143,700 acre feet
Elevation to the top of the dam at maximum capacity is 426 feet
