Text Box: The Weiss Building was built in 1929. In 1999 it was purchased by Glenmark Holding LLC as part of the combined public and private project to revitalize the Wharf District. The interior of the building was gutted and renovated from the ground up. A new passenger elevator was installed along with new electrical and data wiring, new plumbing lines and fixtures, new HVAC systems and new walls and ceilings. The building is fully sprinklered and each unit is pre-wired for a monitored alarm system. Wherever possible old features, such as oak strip flooring and exposed terracotta block walls were preserved. Glenmark was awarded “Best Interior Rehabilitation” by the West Virginia Development Office for the Weiss Building in 2002. In 2004 the building was purchased by Michael Herrick, a builder and income property owner since 1975. All tenants have direct access to him via home and office phone and through email. The Weiss Building is managed by Pearand Corporation, a highly regarded Morgantown real estate management company. Between Pearand Corp. and Mr. Herrick tenants have virtually 24-hour access to the building management We take our tenant relationships very seriously.
