Carroll G. "Nip" Briggs, 86, Chenango Bridge, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 11, 2012 after a long illness. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Charlotte Briggs; daughters and sons-in-law, Bridget & Don Wilson, Delevan, NY, Christine & Jack King, Friendswood, TX, Toni & Dean Evans, Blackstone, VA; grandchildren, Jeff (Beth), Susan (Dustin), Kate, Ricke (Shari), Jamie, Laura (Bill), and Christopher (Lynn); 19 great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. He was employed by AC&F, PA; Bell Aircraft, Buffalo, NY, and he retired from Singer Link, Kirkwood, NY. After his retirement, he volunteered for many years at the blind workshop in Binghamton, NY where he transcribed books into brail. He was a Veteran of the US Navy, a member of the Chenango Bridge United Methodist Church, and also a member of the Mason's. He also enjoyed hunting and fly fishing. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson, NY 13901. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2PM to 4PM and a Memorial Service will follow at 4PM. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park at the convenience of the family.
