Glenn Walker Johnson, III, 67, husband of Donna Faulkner Johnson of Goose Creek, SC, formerly of the Isle of Palms passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 after a short illness. The relatives and friends of Glenn Johnson are invited to attend his Memorial Service on Sunday, May 20, 2012 in the First United Methodist Church, Isle of Palms at 4:00 pm. Burial will be private. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL. The family will greet friends at the church from 3:00 until time of the service. He was born on January 12, 1945 in Scranton, PA. where he spent his childhood surrounded by his parents and siblings as well as many cousins, aunts and uncles. He is the son of the late Shirley Allen and Glenn Walker Johnson, Jr. He graduated from Scranton Central High School in 1962 and received a Degree in Electrical Engineering from Penn State University in 1965. He spent his career in the aviation simulation field as a software engineer and program manager. He was currently employed at C-17 ATS Air Crew Training at the Charleston, South Carolina Air Force Base. Glenn was a longtime resident of Binghamton, N.Y. and spent many summers with his family at the Deer Run Campground in Great Bend, P.A. and at Sandbridge Beach in Virginia. More recently, he lived in Isle of Palms and in Goose Creek, S.C. where he enjoyed spending time at the beach and traveling to the mountains. Glenn loved his family and was so pleased and often very amused to hear the antics of his three grandchildren. He was a loving and devoted husband and a very kind and gentle man. He was known as the "go to" for any friends and family experiencing any difficulty with their computers and his wife often found him in his study with computers broken down and all forms of testing equipment at hand. He loved a challenge and would work endlessly and all hours of the night until he was satisfied that his task was complete. He was an avid Penn State University sports fan. Glenn spent many of the last years of his life selflessly caring for others who were ill with cancer. He is survived by his wife Donna Faulkner Johnson; his daughter Laurie Lenz and husband Kirt; his daughter Linda Randall and her late husband Jay; his sister Lynn Lesh and husband Bill; his brother William "Bill" Allen Johnson and wife Debbie; his sister Cheryl Flowers and husband Kevin; his granddaughters Allison Randall and Rachel Lenz; his grandson Kai Lenz; his stepdaughters Noelle Ward and Summer Steen; Pam Schapp and husband Don; Terry Ludwig; his mother-in-law Bobbie Sue Faulkner; his sister-in-law Runette "Nette" McIntyre and husband Kevin; his sister-in-law Dianne Keil and husband Chris; his brother-in-law Larry Faulkner and wife Elizabeth; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, Youth Ministry, 12 21st Avenue, Isle of Palms, SC 29451.
