Canyon State Educational Solutions is the brainchild of Beth Ferry, longtime educator and Special Education expert. Her extensive experience in Arizona's rural areas made clear to her the need for qualified, dedicated Special Education facilitators to take on those responsibilities that are outside the financial and time restraints common to smaller schools and districts.
Together with colleagues Deb Vandevier, Patti Cummins and Jeff Morton, the CSES team assumes the responsibility of compliance, training and documentation from teachers and administration, freeing them to focus on the education of their students.
Beth has over 33 years of successful teaching and administrative experience.
Prior to providing expert services to small districts in the northwestern area of Arizona, Beth served as Director of Exceptional Student Services for Kingman Unified School District in Kingman, AZ.
Her knowledge of IDEA, No Child Left Behind and ADA allows her to provide best practice for the schools and children whom she serves.
A graduate of Northern Arizona University, Beth holds certification in Administration, Elementary and Special Education.
Beth says:I'm proud to have been a recipient of the Kingman Andy Awards Educator of the Year, and Women Making History in Education.
I have made a difference: Adjunct instructor for Mohave Community College and Northern Arizona University (undergraduate and graduate level coursework).
I'm Nana to two beautiful young boys: Being a player in providing an excellent educational system is more than a career; it's so very personal!

Of my accomplishments in education, none is more fulfilling than being able to join Canyon State Educational Solutions to assist small, rural schools to provide high quality services to their students.
As a teacher, I loved assisting my students to achieve in the general education classroom. As a teacher on assignment, I loved helping teachers to achieve success. As a program specialist, I loved helping both school districts and charters to support teachers and students.
Just like the students we serve, each school has its own specific set of unique strengths and weaknesses. My career goal is to assist as many of these schools to celebrate their accomplishments and address their challenges.

The Yucca Elementary School has been in existence since the early 1900's. It began as a one-room schoolhouse with no electricity. In the winter, some of the older students would come early every morning and light the wood stove before school began. The teacher lived on school grounds in a small building called a "teacherage" which consisted of a living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. The teacher was responsible for teaching all grades, taking care of district budgets and paperwork, as well as janitorial work.
