BASIC MOVEMENTS
1. This block can be done from any stance.
2. The fist is closed and the wrist is straight.
3. The blocking arm covers the head entirely at a 45-degree angle to deflect the blow.
4. The meaty part of the forearm is facing away from the body.
5. The blocking arm passes one fist width away from the body as it moves.
6. The blocking arms position is also one fist width away from the head.
7. The other arm is simultaneously moving into the punch-ready position.
8. Do not over block.
1. This block can be done from any stance.

5. The blocking arm is one fist width from the side of the body and level with the shoulder.
6. Do not over block.
1. This block can be done from any stance, but usually from a Neko-Ashi-Dachi.
2. The block is performed with the shuto hand position at shoulder height.
3. The blocking hand starts at the opposite ear level and moves out in front of the body.
4. The motion is in a slight circular arc.
5. The blocking arm is almost fully extended.
6. The opposite arm is brought to a ready position at belt level. The palm is open and up.
